A murder in London

Act 1
There is a murder which happened in a small town in London.

Sheriff: Hi, I am the sheriff. You can call me Mr. Hawking.
Michael: Hi, Mr. Hawking, I have been waiting for you for a long time. I am the informant, Michael.
Sheriff: Michael, I’d like to introduce you to Formosa. Formosa is a detective who is just a senior high school student.
Michael: I’m very pleased to meet you. I hope you can arrest the murderer as soon as possible.
Formosa: I'm very pleased to meet you, too. I will try my best.
Sheriff: Don’t worry, Michael. Formosa is famous for his Inferring Ability.
Michael: Mr. Hawking, let me take you to my friend, Pearce’s house. I was there to play video games at his house. When I arrived there, I smelled a foul stink. I found the door wasn’t locked, so I entered it. As you see, he has been dead. (crying)
Formosa: Are you the first person that found the body?
Michael: Yes.
Sheriff: The dead inserted the knife into his heart…perhaps…he committed suicide.
Michael: Look!  In his pocket, there is a piece of paper.
(Formosa glimpsed at Pearce.)
Formosa: Let me take a look at the paper
Sheriff: It’s the letter left by the dead! Now, everything is clear now. Pearce committed suicide.
Michael: I can’t believe…Pearce…why you wanted…(crying)
(Formosa observed the body adopted a strange pose.)
Formosa: This is not a simple case!
Sheriff: What do you mean?
Formosa: It’s a murder and the murderer is MICHAEL.
Michael: How come? It’s not me! Show me the evidence!
Formosa: At first, you arrived here…
Act 2
Michael goes to Pearce’s house.

Michael: Hi, I am coming.
Pearce: Let me take your coat. Please make yourself at home.
Michael: Your house is so comfortable.
Pearce: Thank you. Would you care for something to drink?
Michael: No, thanks. I’m fine for the moment.
Pearce: I bought some high-class wine yesterday. I insist you try some.
Michael: OK. Thank you very much.
Pearce: Just wait a minute.
(Michael killed Pearce, and put a piece of paper in his pocket. )

Formosa: First, do you guys remember who found the letter of the dead first?
Sheriff: Michael!
Formosa: Do you remember where the letter was?
Sheriff: In the pocket!
Formosa: Michael, can you explain the reason why you knew where the letter was?
Michael: I...I…I….Because it is the common sense. Everyone knows that the one who commits suicide will leave the letter.
Formosa: But how do you know he committed suicide?
Michael: I…I…
Formosa: Second, now, you two observe the poses of the dead.
Sheriff: Why’s that? I didn’t see anything wrong. What do you want us to see?
Formosa: Look at his hands. Don’t you find that he seems to imitate a very famous basketball player?
Sheriff: Huuh…Mi…Mike….Michael Jordon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Formosa: You got it!
Michael: No. Maybe he just wanted to leave the message that his idol is Sakurakihanamichi.
Formosa: There is more to it. Look at his foot. Don’t you find that he seems to imitate a very famous singer?
Sheriff: If you ask me…..!!!!! Mi…Mi…Michael Jackson!!!!!!!!!
Formosa: You can say that again! Both of them are signals that the dead tried to leave the hint to us who the murderer is.
Michael: Yeasss…() The murderer is me~!
Formosa: Can you tell me the reason?
Michael: Ok…The thing happened in the restaurant the other day…
Act 3
Pearce: Long time no see, Michael.

Michael: Yes, I haven’t seen you for ages.
Pearce: I heard that you got a new job.
Michael: Yes, I work in the bookstore now.
Pearce: How’s your new job going?
Michael: Not so great. The money’s not very good and my boss is too strict.
Pearce: How much do you earn per hour?
Michael: Six dollars.
Pearce: It’s ok, and I think it’s more important to gain experience.
Michael: But my girlfriend broke up with me because my pay is low.
Pearce: I am sorry to hear that.
Michael: How about you?
Pearce: I work in the media, and the pay is great. It’s an autonomous job.
Michael: How lucky you are! You must have a girlfriend because you have such a great job.
Pearce: You’re right, but she means nothing to me. Do you remember Amy, the most beautiful girl in our high school then?
Michael: Amy…She is my ex-girlfriend…
Pearce: Really?
Michael: Please treat her well.
Pearce: Ha, she abandoned you, didn’t she?
Michael: You are telling me! But I still love her.
Pearce: You are too serious. In my opinion, women are only sex partners to me.
Michael: As I see it, women should be cherished.
Pearce: We don’t see eye to eye at all when it comes to women.
Michael: Your attitude really gets me.
Pearce: Sorry, let’s stop this topic, ok? Have you been to Edinburg?
Michael: No.
Pearce: I can take you there someday if you like.
Michael: I don’t want to take up your time.
Pearce: It’s no trouble at all.
Michael: Ok, call me later. Now I gotta go.
Pearce: Bye. I look forward to seeing you again.
Michael: Bye.
Act 4
Formosa: So, you killed him because he took your place in taking care of your ex-girlfriend.
Michael: Of course not. I killed him because he didn’t cherish her!
Sheriff: But…you know…that is none of your business.
Michael: Amy committed suicide because of his disloyalty.
Formosa: That’s why you made an appointment with him to meet in his house?
Michael: I can’t stand it when other men cheat my love.
Sheriff: Killing can’t change anything.  I have to arrest you.

Formosa: Crime doesn't pay.
